Plum Borough, ACOME Release Names of August 12 House Explosion Following Identification
PITTSBURGH – Plum Borough officials and the Allegheny County Office of the Medical Examiner (ACOME) today released the names of the victims of the Saturday, August 12, 2023 house explosion. The victims, all of whom resided in Plum Borough, have now been formally identified by ACOME. They are:

Casey Clontz, 38

Keegan Clontz, 12

Heather Oravitz, 51

Kevin Sebunia, 55

Michael Thomas, 57

ACOME is in the process of releasing the remains to the families for funerals and burial. Cause and manner of death remain pending at this time. There is no time frame for when such determination will be made.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to all those affected by this horrible tragedy. The loss and grief felt by all of us is overwhelming,” said Mike Doyle, Plum Borough Council President. “Thank you to everybody in the community and surrounding area for everything you’ve done for us during this tragedy. Our borough will continue to be here as a resource for this community. Whatever our residents need – whether it be services, grief counseling, food, water, or anything else – we will provide. Please reach out to us for any assistance that may be needed.”
