ELECTION DAY IS TUESDAY, APRIL 23

The Elections Division began work as soon as the fall 2023 election was over for the upcoming primary and general elections. On the ballot are President of the United States, United States Senator, Congressional Representatives, State Attorney General, State Auditor General, State Treasurer, State Senators (odd numbered districts), State Representatives, and delegates to the national conventions.

Candidates are currently circulating petitions with February 13 being the last day to circulate and file petitions. None of the petitions are filed with the county but are instead filed with the PA Department of State. The list of those who have filed to date is available here
.

POLL WORKER RECRUITMENT ONGOING

The Elections Division has confirmed 4,767 poll workers to-date for the April 23 primary. There are still some needs though, and volunteers are needed for positions across the county.

Interested in working? Please contact the office by phone at 412.350.4500, select option 5, email the office at alleghenyelectionworkers@alleghenycounty.us, stop by the office at 312 County Office Building, 542 Forbes Avenue, downtown Pittsburgh, or complete the online application.

STUDENT POLL WORKER PROGRAM GOING STRONG

We’re extremely grateful to the school districts who have participated in our Student Poll Worker Program in the past. Packets have just gone out to districts in the mail and we look forward to again having students be part of the primary election.

POLLING PLACE UPDATES

The Elections Division continues to confirm polling places and work with communities where moves have been necessary. As the date of the election gets closer, an updated list of polling places will be posted on the website with ongoing updates.

Once the deadline to register to vote has passed, voters in the impacted precincts will receive a mailing notifying them of the change. Additionally, the “old” polling places will have signage posted on them on election day redirecting voters to the correct location.

As always, voters who are going to the polls on election day are encouraged to check their polling place to be sure there are no changes.
