WELCOME TO ALLEGHENY VOTES!

This e-newsletter is distributed by the Allegheny County Elections Division to provide up-to-date information about elections in Allegheny County. For the next several weeks as we prepare for the April 23 election, we will publish weekly, sharing key deadlines and answers to voters’ frequently asked questions.

Do you know people or organizations that would benefit from the information in this newsletter? Encourage them to sign up here.

VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE: APRIL 8

Prospective voters have until April 8, 2024, to register to vote. Paper applications are due by 5 PM at the Office of Elections, 542 Forbes Ave., 3rd floor, in downtown Pittsburgh. If you register online, you must complete the process no later than 11:59 PM on April 8th. These deadlines also apply to voters filing changes of address, name, or party.
MAIL-IN AND ABSENTEE BALLOT APPLICATION DEADLINE: APRIL 16

To apply for a mail-in or absentee ballot online, go to  https://vote.pa.gov/ApplyMailBallot.

You may also download, complete and return a paper mail-in ballot application or a paper absentee ballot application. The paper application must be received by 5 PM on Tuesday, April 16. Mail completed paper applications to Allegheny County Elections Division, 542 Forbes Ave. Pittsburgh, PA, 15219-2953. Remember, it is best to get mail-in ballot applications in as soon as possible to ensure a voter receives and can return their ballot prior to the April 23 election.

ELECTION DAY IS TUESDAY, APRIL 23

If you are planning to vote in-person, start preparing now by checking your registration status and your polling location. A tip for voters looking up their polling locations: Use your mailing address, not your municipality.

All 1,327 precincts in Allegheny County will be open on April 23 for in person voting. However, more than 50 polling places will be in new locations since the last election. Updates on locations will be published at Candidate and Municipality Resources - Allegheny County, PA under the Polling Places Listing
as they are available. In this Excel formatted spreadsheet, rows highlighted in yellow are changed. Rows highlighted in red will be changed when new locations can be identified. Additionally, a mailing advising voters of their new polling locations will be sent to EVERY household in the affected precincts. On Election Day, signage will be posted on the former polling places directing voters to their new polling places.

All polling places open at 7 AM and close at 8 PM. Any voter in line at 8 PM will be allowed to vote.
BE A POLL WORKER!

The Elections Division has confirmed 6,628 poll workers committed to working the April 23 primary election. There are still neighborhoods that need poll workers, however. Interested in working? We have several easy ways to get in touch:
STUDENT POLL WORKERS SERVING ACROSS THE COUNTY

Among the volunteers serving as poll workers are students who have stepped up to assist on Election Day. We’re extremely grateful to the school districts supporting this activity.
Thank you to the following schools for partnering with us: Fox Chapel, North Hills, PGH CAPA 6-12, Saint Joseph, South Fayette, Springdale. If you are interested in getting involved with this program, more information is available at studentpollworker@alleghenycounty.us or https://www.alleghenycounty.us/Government/Elections/Student-Poll-Worker-Program

If you see a student, thank them!
