OVER THE COUNTER VOTING BEGINS TODAY

Beginning September 24 and until October 27, Allegheny County offers over the counter voting 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday at the County Office Building located at 542 Forbes Ave., Pittsburgh, 15219.

The County Office Building will also serve as a Satellite Voting Office on specified dates. See more information on schedules and services at the COB below.

Election staff at the COB will also accept voted mail-in ballots during the specified dates and hours. After over the counter voting has ended on October 27, ballot return will continue to be available during specified hours through Election Day, November 3. Ballot return hours will be extended on Election Day, running from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. Anyone in line at 8:00 pm will be allowed to return their voted ballot.

Leading up to the November 3 General Election, Allegheny County will also staff Ballot Return Sites and Satellite Offices around the county. See below for more details about these opportunities.

Please remember:

1. No photography or filming inside of voting and ballot return locations is allowed.

2. A voter may return only their own ballot unless they are acting as a designated agent for another voter who is incapacitated and cannot go to the polls. In that case, in order to obtain a ballot for another voter, bring this form, completed and signed, along with a mail-in ballot application that is completed and signed. The designated agent form is also required in order to return a voted ballot on behalf of another voter.

MAIL IN BALLOTS TO ENTER MAIL STREAM NEXT WEEK

Allegheny County mail in ballots are scheduled to begin entering the US mail next week, and should begin to be delivered 7 to 10 days later to voters who have requested them.

Allegheny County has processed 124,191 applications for mail in ballots to date. Voters who have included an email address with their mail in ballot application will receive advisories via email as the ballots move through the process of mailing to voters and return to the county.

Voters may request mail in ballots until October 27. Voters are urged to request their ballots as early as possible. Putting a ballot into the mail for delivery after the 27th is not recommended, as delivery by Election Day, November 3, is not assured, and a postmark will not suffice. Voters may return voted ballots to staffed locations specified below in this newsletter.

COUNTY OFFICE BUILDING 2026 GENERAL ELECTION SERVICE SCHEDULE

The County Office Building at 542 Forbes Ave. in downtown Pittsburgh offers the greatest number of in-person opportunities to register, to vote, and to return ballots. Voters returning ballots in the last week before the election, beginning October 26, will be allowed to park briefly in the curb lane on Ross Street. The schedule below offers comprehensive, detailed information on service availabilities.

SATELLITE VOTING TIMES, DATES, LOCATIONS

Five satellite election offices will be available to serve voters around the county between October 7 and October 25. At these locations, voters may register (through the October 19 deadline), apply for, receive, vote, and return their mail-in and absentee ballots.

On Wednesday and Thursday, October 7 and 8, 2026, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, a satellite office will be open at:

Any Allegheny County voter is eligible to vote at any satellite location. Voters in possession of their completed mail-in ballot may also return the ballot at a satellite location.

At the direction of the Allegheny County Board of Elections the number of ballot return opportunities has been increased since the Primary. Voters may return their voted ballots to these sites at these times and dates:

11:00 am to 7:00 pm on Friday, October 30, 2026, and Monday, November 2, 2026.

9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday, October 31, and Sunday, November 1, 2026.

VOTING IN PERSON? CHECK YOUR POLLING LOCATION

More than 40 polling places have moved since the primary. If you plan to vote in person on November 3, you can check on your polling place location on the countywide list of polling places.

You’ll need your municipality, ward, and district to identify your polling place. If you don't have that information, you can find it at the PA Voter Services Polling Place Locator.

Former polling places are identified on Election Day by signage directing voters to the new location.

Polling places are open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. Voters in line at 8:00 pm will be allowed to vote.

HELP MAKE DEMOCRACY HAPPEN! JUDGES OF ELECTION, POLL WORKERS NEEDED

5,660 poll workers have signed up to serve Allegheny County voters on November 3, out of 6,500 needed to fully staff the election.

There is a continuing need for judges of election in Baldwin, Clairton, East Pittsburgh, Forward, Jefferson Hills, McKeesport, North Versailles, and Pittsburgh.

Workers of all kinds are still needed in Forward, Clairton, Jefferson Hills, and North Versailles. The poll working website offers information about working the polls including training opportunities and hours of service.
