BALLOT RETURN SITE RESULTS FROM APRIL 13-14; SITES OPEN AGAIN THIS WEEKEND

Seven ballot return sites accepted 947 completed ballots over the past weekend at county-staffed sites. The results included the following:

West--911 Call Center: 35 ballots
East--Boyce Park Four Seasons Lodge: 60 ballots
East End--Carnegie Public Library of Squirrel Hill: 105 ballots
Downtown--County Office Building: 9 ballots
North--North Park Ice Rink: 100 ballots
Mon Valley--Kane McKeesport: 12 ballots
South--South Park Ice Rink: 140 ballots

April 14
West--911 Call Center: 24 ballots
East--Boyce Park Four Seasons Lodge: 46 ballots
East End--Carnegie Public Library of Squirrel Hill: 246 ballots
Downtown--County Office Building: 12 ballots
North--North Park Ice Rink: 77 ballots
Mon Valley--Kane McKeesport: 8 ballots
South--South Park Ice Rink: 73 ballots

Regional locations for ballot return will operate this coming weekend, Saturday April 20, 9 am – 5 pm; and Sunday, April 21, 11 am – 7 pm.

Remember: you may only return your own ballot unless you have a completed authorization form to turn in a ballot on behalf of someone who physically is unable to do so. Ballot return sites will only accept completed ballots. There are no provisions for “over the counter” voting at these sites.

In addition to the weekend hours listed above, voters may return ballots at the County Office Building during the following weekdays: today through Thursday, April 18 from 8:30 am-4:30 pm; Friday, April 19 from 8:30 am – 8 pm; the day before Election Day, Monday, April 22 from 8:30 am-8 pm. Election Day return hours are the same as the polling hours, 7 am-8 pm. Voters using the Ross Street return may park briefly using the lane closest to the County Office Building while returning their ballot.

APRIL 16 DEADLINE FOR MAIL-IN BALLOT APPLICATION, OVER THE COUNTER VOTING

The deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot is 5 pm, Tuesday, April 16. Voters may apply in person at the County Office Building downtown or online at Mail-in and Absentee Ballot (pa.gov). Over-the-counter voting continues through April 16.

Voters may come to the first floor of the County Office Building at 542 Forbes Ave., the corner of Forbes and Ross St., where they may complete a mail-in or absentee ballot application at the counter. After the application is reviewed and approved the voter is presented with all materials needed to vote by mail. Voters may immediately vote and return the ballot on site or take the materials with them. The voted ballot must be returned to the Elections Division either by mail or hand-delivery by the voter no later than 8 pm on election day, Tuesday, April 23.

After the April 16 deadline for mail-in voting applications, voters who need to vote prior to April 23 will need to request an emergency ballot at the County Office Building.

The counter in the lobby has the same hours as the Elections Division office – 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

VOTING IN PERSON? CHECK YOUR POLLING PLACE LOCATION!

Voters planning to vote in person on Tuesday, April 23, are encouraged to check their polling place. Since the last election, 62 polling places have been relocated due to scheduling conflicts, construction, or the site management’s request.

Last week, a mailing advising of new polling locations went out to all households in affected precincts. On Election Day, signage will be posted on the former polling places directing voters to their new polling places.

POLL WORKER UPDATES

As of today, 6,878 poll workers have committed to helping produce the April 23 primary election.
There are still individual opportunities in Bridgeville 00-03, Castle Shannon 00-03, Forward 00-03, Frazer 00-01, McCandless 02-03, Mt Lebanon 05-06, North Fayette 00-04, Pittsburgh 04-14, Pittsburgh 16-11, Pittsburgh 29-01, Pittsburgh 29-09, Scott 02-01, and Upper Saint Clair 04-03. Workers are reminded to arrive by 6 am at their assigned polling place and to plan to be there through the end of polling and end of the day activities to close the site. See you on Election Day!
