Allegheny County Elections Division Mails First Batch of Permanent Mail-In Absentee Ballot Applications
PITTSBURGH – Today the Allegheny County Elections Division mailed its first batch of mail-in and absentee ballot applications for the 2024 election cycle. The Elections Division will mail a total of 295,000 mail-in and absentee applications to Allegheny County voters. Act 77 of 2019 provides that individuals who have requested to be on the permanent mail-in or absentee ballot list receive an application by at least the first Monday of February each year. Due to the primary election date falling on April 23, 2024 (earlier than recent past primaries), the Elections Division is releasing the applications earlier.

The County Elections Division encourages voters who want to apply for a mail-in or absentee ballot to fill out the paper form or use the QR code to fill out an online version of the application as soon as possible. The primary election will be held on April 23, 2024. Ballots are typically ready approximately 25 days prior to Election Day.
